The False god of Feelings — Mayor Buttigieg’s Pro-Homosexual Christianity

Let’s see; Word of God versus a radically liberal American homosexual…

Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.

James 1:13-15 — English Standard Version

You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.

Leviticus 18:22 — English Standard Version

We no longer stone people to death, and that is a good thing, and we are not to met out the judgment of life or death on those who sin and commit abominations against God and nature, going against the inerrant living Word of God which is eternal — God will judge. Got will met out death upon those males who lie with a male as with a woman, and a woman who lies with a woman as a male;

If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.

Leviticus 20:13 — English Standard Version

Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted.

1 Timothy 1:8-11 — English Standard Version

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 — English Standard Version

God’s Wrath on Unrighteousness

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.

Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

Romans 1:18-32 — English Standard Version

just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.

Jude 1:7 — English Standard  Version

I will take, hold, cling to and believe the inerrant living word of Almighty All-Knowing God over an individual sinful, worldly, radically liberal practicing homosexual man claiming he knows better than God.

As excerpted from the excellent article below; “As Everett Piper wrote at the Washington Times in reply to Mayor Pete, we don’t get to make up our own version of Christianity. The faith delivered once for all is a faith delivered—it was delivered to the saints. It’s a revealed faith. The religions we make up based on our feelings are different religions altogether.”

Let us also begin to speak and write clearly, precisely, unafraid. What is taking place here is not “feelings” but it is RELATIVISTIC PHILOSOPHY, Relativism, relativistic ideologies replacing the foundations, the truth. It is what has been since the beginning, which is encompasses all of Biblical times, to the present, which is also Biblical times only this Biblical time we’re living out Romans 1.

What is unfolding is beyond mere “feelings” but encompasses removing an established for over 2,000 year belief system based on God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and the whole inerrant Word of God and having sinful, evil-minded minions of the devil perverting, corrupting and eroding the foundations of truth and attempting to replace them with the lies of Satan. Make no mistake. It’s more than “feelings” or a few false teachings going on here.

Each of us can only walk one path. Believe one belief system. We either walk in the Light, in the Truth, with the Way, and the Life in Jesus Christ the Lord and all that means, or we walk in darkness and sin and evil-minded in the ways of the world and he who has dominion in it for a season, the devil.

Only two choices, Only two paths a person can take.

I will hold to the Holy Bible. The only book of truth on earth and while it contains many things I must humble myself to, submit myself to and obey it is not a hard task master or merely a book of rules. I do these things from being transformed in mind and spirit by the Holy Spirit to the truth and now know what the purpose of every man and woman on earth truly is — and it is not to only do that which we like or is easy, to serve self and make up our own rules and religions, belief systems which are inline with our “feelings.”

It is a joy to submit and obey God my Father and Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour. To strive to live each day in not disappointing or displeasing Them rather than ignoring Their Word and living to please myself making it all up along the way, which is more than “feelings” it is the ever-growing, dark, evil philosophy of man known as Relativism. Whatever one believes is true, their truth no matter how vile, sinful, illogical, insane, wrong, immoral, unjust and narcissistic it may be. All self, all ego driven. With the Evil One stoking the furnace keeping the heat turned up in the hearts and minds of those who serve him and are enslaved by him rather than those who come to know and live in the freedom and light of God’s ways, Jesus’ sacrifice and forgiving, loving heart and mind.

Most now follow and serve the false god called feelings, or Relativistic ideology.

Few follow and obey the One True God of Light, Truth, and Life.

I will abide in the minority and endure what I must for my beliefs — and when my beliefs oppose yours because mine are founded in God, in Jesus, in the Holy Spirit, in the Holy Scriptures that does not mean I hate you, or that I fear you, or desire anything for you other than that the truth of God and the Light of Jesus Christ the Living Lord are permitted to enter into your dark, cold worldly heart and life.

Let us begin using the correct, precise honest words shall we? Finally?

There is no hate, no fear in having an opposing belief from an individual refusing the truth of God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. There is just having opposing beliefs. Surpassing “feelings,” but not including any part of hate or fear.

I do not hate nor fear sinful people. No matter their sin. I was a great sinner. I am still a sinner. All genuine believers are still sinners while in the flesh and will not become totally pure and without sin until we are transformed from flesh to spirit.

So, please, do not come to me telling me I hate and fear homosexuals, or Muslims from what is written or posted here. I do not hate or fear. I just believe completely different than those who refuse the truth or serve false gods and sinful masters. That’s all.

To think, speak or refuse this is to then adopt and live by the worldview rather than the Biblical view, the Christian view.

We are to be strangers here. Exiles here. A strange and peculiar people — not like the world appeasing, bowing to and adopting it’s sinful ways or how it defines things.

No one can omit nor add to God’s Word and call themselves Christian, or true believers. No one can think or say they know better than God our Creator, nor lower God to our level, nor claim God would make them a certain way and be accomplice to their sin, their evil, their abomination when the Word of God is crystal clear in myriad places on these matters.

The teachings of Satan do not surpass nor trump the teachings and ways of God and Jesus Christ.

The system of lies put forth by the Evil One to the people of this world ensnared by him do not surpass nor trump the inerrancy of the complete, whole Word of God and the Lord’s TRUTH.

Although in this age we are taught VEHEMENTLY AND CONSTANTLY we should be those;

…that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Isaiah 5:20 — King James Version Holy Scriptures

I will not be among those. Instead, I say along with Peter and the other apostles before men walking in darkness and opposed to God;

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Acts 5:29 — King James Version Holy Scriptures

The False god of Feelings

Mayor Buttigieg’s Pro-Homosexual Christianity

I’ve said before on BreakPoint that if your God never tells you to do anything you don’t want to do, your god is probably you. If there were an Americanized translation of the Apostle’s Creed for today, it would be something like this: “I believe in God the Father, Almighty, who always supports my feelings.”

This kind of self-centered faith is epidemic both within the church and without, in conservative congregations and progressive ones.

The most recent case in point is Democratic presidential candidate and South Bend, Indiana mayor, Pete Buttigieg. At a recent fundraiser, he said of his same-sex “marriage”: “[it] has made me a better man [and]…moved me closer to God. If being homosexual was a choice, it was a choice that was made far above my pay grade.”

He then added, somewhat out-of-the-blue: “That’s the thing I wish the Mike Pences of the world would understand, that if you have a problem with who I am, your problem is not with me. Your quarrel, sir, is with my creator.”

This was, of course, a political cheap shot. Mike Pence’s anti-lesbian, homosexual, bisexual and transgender reputation was secured a long time ago when, as governor of Indiana, he supported religious freedom legislation that sent progressives into hysterics (even though it was a mirror state-level copy of federal legislation that Bill Clinton and Ted Kennedy had proposed).

As Mayor Pete and the long list of Democratic presidential contenders gear up for their primaries, they have to pander to their liberal base. And what better way to do that than bashing the guy whose boss you hope to unseat? For his part, Vice-President Pence refused the bait, offering compliments instead for Mayor Pete’s years of public service and adding, “He knows me better than that.”

But Mayor Pete’s comments are worth thinking through, if for no other reason than it would’ve been unthinkable not that long ago to try to enlist God in support of homosexual relationships. Feelings have become so central to personal identity across our culture, even in religion, that to suggest the Bible, God, the Church, or any other authority has a right to question those feelings is tantamount to heresy.

Buttigieg and authors like Matthew Vines, who wrote the book, “God and the Gay Christian,” are in essence saying, “God made me this way—and I know this because He would never ask me to go against my feelings.”

Unsurprisingly, the secular press has claimed that this new culturally-conformed Christianity as articulated by Mayor Pete will, of course, win the day. Terry Mattingly at Get Religion noted USA Today’s almost “evangelistic tone” in reporting Buttigieg’s words, and how they wrote as if the mayor’s reading of the Bible is a defensible theological position.

The reality, of course, is that the mayor’s quarrel isn’t with Mike Pence. His quarrel is with the clear texts of Scripture that both identify what marriage is and what it is for, as well as how homosexual behavior is sinful. His quarrel is with natural law, reflected in the biological roles our bodies play and the universally embraced connection of marriage and procreation, even by societies not influenced by Christian morality. And of course, his quarrel is with 2,000 years of unanimous Christian witness on marriage and sexual morality.

As Everett Piper wrote at the Washington Times in reply to Mayor Pete, we don’t get to make up our own version of Christianity. The faith delivered once for all is a faith delivered—it was delivered to the saints. It’s a revealed faith. The religions we make up based on our feelings are different religions altogether.

Buttigieg may feel that his same-sex relationship has somehow brought him closer to God, but it has not. “If you love me,” Jesus says in John 14:15, “you will keep my commandments.” Now, homosexual people aren’t singled out by Jesus’ words here, but they are absolutely included.

And to be clear, Mike Pence’s feelings on the issue aren’t of any more authority than Mayor Pete’s feelings. No, this decision was made way above either man’s pay grade.
